1962/63: A HARSH WINTER

Under new manager Jock Stein, Hibs start season 1964/65 with a bang by winning the Summer Cup against Aberdeen.
Jock Stein masterminds a famous win over Real Madrid in a challenge match at Easter Road. The team takes confidence from the victory and start to dominate fixtures in the League.
Jock Stein announces he is leaving to join Celtic after Hibernian's chances of winning the League were extinguished. Bob Shankly is quickly appointed the new manager.
The Club end the season in fourth place whilst losing semi finals in both the Scottish Cup to Dunfermline and in the Summer Cup against Motherwell.
After a tour of North America, season 1965/66 starts with the League Cup group stages.
A very busy season schedule isn't helped by Hibs having to participate in replay matches for both the League Cup Semi Final and against Valencia in the Fairs Cup.
Hibernian record their highest home win in the League, with a stunning 11-1 victory over Hamilton. The match is played on the day the Club open a new enclosure in the North end of Easter Road Stadium.
After being involved in some high scoring matches, Hibernian finish season 1965/66 in sixth position.
Hibernian kick off the new season in the League Cup group stages after a warm up tour of Africa. Peter Cormack suffers a nasty injury in a fixture against St Johnstone.
